Our Patient Participation Group (PPG) was formed by the Practice alongside the introduction of the Quality Outcomes Framework for general practice.

Working with patients to improve NHS services

The patient participation Group (PPG) is a group of volunteer patients who work in partnership with Abbeyview Surgery staff to help improve services, communication and patient experience. Every NHS GP practice has a PPG to help ensure that patient views are listened to and considered.

Aims of the PPG

  • Improve communication between patients and the practice
  • Provide a patient voice to influence decisions and services
  • Support the practice in delivering and promoting health initiatives
  • Promote health and well being through awareness and activities
  • Strengthen links with the wider community and health services

Any patient may nominate themselves throughout the year. All you need to do is visit the practice and let a member of the reception team know you are interested in joining and they will provide you with the relevant forms.

Removal of the patient from the practice list for whatever reason will disqualify continuing membership of the group.

The PPG usually meet on the 4th Monday every month and new members always welcomed. There are no criteria other than being registered at the practice.  If you are interested in joining, please complete the application form below, pick one up from reception, or simply register your interest with reception or through the links below and you will be contacted. Removal of the patient from the practice list for whatever reason will disqualify continuing membership of the PPG.
